Welcome to Eastgate Medical Group
Eastgate Medical Group provides two doctors' surgeries, at Eastgate Surgery in Knaresborough and at the The Health Centre in Harrogate. In addition to providing essential and additional services under the General Medical NHS Contract, the Partners also provide enhanced services for Minor Surgery, Minor Injuries, Near Patient Testing, Nursing Homes, Anticoagulation Monitoring, IUD Fitting, Childhood Vaccinations, Influenza Vaccinations.
Eastgate Surgery and The Health Centre are fully accessible to wheelchair users. We have a portable hearing loop in the surgery for patients with hearing difficulties. Please ask the receptionist for assistance if required.
We are pleased to inform patients that from 13th June 2011 we have installed two local cost numbers to ring as an additional alternative to the 0844 number. However you may get an engaged tone on these numbers but these are an alternative to the main surgery number at a lower cost to patients. You will not be put on hold and therefore not paying to wait. You can still use the 0844 number if these numbers are engaged. However we must stress in case of emergency please ring 0844 477 3316 which will give you the option to press for emergency.
We will still endeavour to answer all calls as promptly as possible.

Approved Training Practice
The practice is a training practice for medical students and occasionally a student from Leeds University may be in attendance. We are also an approved Post Graduate Training Practice. This means that there is usually a doctor with us from the Vocational Training Scheme - they are fully qualified and spend six months with us before finding their own practice.
We also accommodate Foundation Year 2 Doctors as part of Modernising Medical
Careers, these are fully qualified Doctors who have experience in different
areas of medicine prior to choosing their final career pathway.
We believe that involvement in teaching keeps our standards high and keeps
us up to date. We are grateful to you for lending your support to our teaching
and we hope that you will accept the occasional presence of a medical student
or video camera during consultations, but please feel free to refuse if
you are not comfortable about this.

The doctors, receptionists and ancillary staff are here to help you. We are always open to suggestions as to how our services can be improved. If you have an idea, don’t keep it to yourself - tell one of us!
